Hersonissos is a former port town of Crete Island. It is located in the north of the island 25 kilometers from the capital Heraklion. The most ideal place for entertainment: bars, night clubs, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Here you will find the largest pool of young people from all over the world. Hersonissos is the oldest city in Crete. Its name came from the word "peninsula." The very first settlement appeared here in the Krito-Minoan civilization, around 1500 BC. The archeologists found Bronze Age artifacts - fragments of dishes, tools, and jewelry.
